Put simply, the bad bacteria prefers a slightly more acid environment and the good bacteria prefers a slightly more alkaline environment. The hydrogen in Microhydrin® upon entering the cell, causes a pH shift to a slightly more alkaline environment, thereby discouraging the growth of the bad bacteria.
